Photographer Kevin Carter took the photograph of this little girl in southern Sudan, devastated by famine.

You can see a vulture waiting to feed on the girl. Carter took the photograph and chased the vulture away. The girl had made it to safety. Carter won a Pulitzer for this photograph. But he was criticized for not helping the girl. Haunted by everything he had seen in Sudan, Carter committed suicide three months later. Click the next ARROW to see the next Photo!
