8 Italians among 157 who died in Boeing 737 plane Crash

Italy is mourning the victims of last weekend’s Ethiopian Airlines disaster which claimed 157 lives, including those of eight Italians.
These included Sebastiano Tusa, a world-famous archaeologist and the head of the Sicilian regional government’s culture department, who was on the flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi to attend a UNESCO conference in Malindi.
Virginia Chimenti and Maria Pilar Buzzetti worked for Rome-based UN agency.
They were among 19 employees of UN organizations to die in the crash. Three other victims worked for the Africa Tremila NGO – Carlo Spini, his wife Gabriella Vigiani and the association’s treasurer, Matteo Ravasio.
The other Italians who died in the disaster were aid worker Rosemary Mumbi and Paolo Dieci, the president of the CISP NGO.
