A heavy storm has hit large parts of Italy and cost several lives.

The Civil Protection issued a red alert – the maximum level – this morning for the regions of Abruzzo, Liguria, Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige.
Four men died in the southern region of Calabria.
They were killed near the city of Crotone by a landslide when they tried to repair a pipe destroyed by the storm, police reported Sunday news agencies.
