A ‘new eruptive episode’ started this morning at Sicily’s Volcano Mount Etna, with lava flows south of the volcano throughout the day.
The volcano – Europe’s highest and most active – spewed lava and volcanic ash almost constantly, reaching a peak at around 5:45 pm, and again at 11 pm.
