Emma Morano, has died at age 117 in her home in northern Italy.Morano was born on November 29, 1899. She was also believed to have been the last surviving person in the world who was born in the 1800s.

She had been bed-bound during her latter years. The Guinness World Records certificate declaring her to be the oldest person alive.
